I hope you are well? I have been a very busy bee getting everything ready for the first workshop in my studio at the mill on Sunday, there are still a few places left if you would like to come along, it's the Hand Embroidery & Applique Workshop, the link to book this workshop is below.
As you can see from the images here, I haven't yet got the bookcases in, but that is a job for tomorrow. There are some videos on my Instagram and Facebook pages, which I had hoped to show you here, but I am having a techno nightmare trying to get it to work, it's probably the heat! My new studio is a very calm space, and I am in love with it, and can't wait for the workshop there on Sunday! Workshop at Beyond Measure I am at the beautiful Beyond Measure haberdashery store on Saturday 16th September with a Creative Wool Embroidery Workshop, and this one includes an extra embroidery kit, so you can carry on stitching after the workshop. It seems only fitting to put together an extra special pack in such a lovely embroidery setting that is chock full of unusual textile goodies, and well worth a visit. Embroidered Lampshades Workshop I will be teaching an all day workshop at Eden Gallery on
Sunday 24th September, where we will be making embroidered lampshades in a choice of designs. Tuition, guidance, and all materials are included, and the process is:
Choose your pre-embroidered trim from a range of colours.
Match the DMC threads to the pre-embroidered trim.
Embroider some hand embroidery to match the trim (I will supply the patterns).
Fix the fabric to the lampshade kit (helped by me).
Fix the pre-embroidered trim to the lampshade.
Take it home, put it on your lamp base or ceiling, then stand back, admire, and congratulate yourself!
